This will be a 3-day international convention held at the Grand Sierra Resort with a Pre-Party at Pearl Champagne Lounge during Latin Thursdays from January 8 -10, 2009. There will be top quality instructors from Australia, Lithuania, Washington D.C., Texas, Hawaii, Florida, Boston, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Jose, Arizona and San Francisco.

Start your new year by learning this dance that originated in the Dominican Republic and is now danced in nightclubs all over the world. Bachata is an intimate dance similar to Argentine Tango that is accessible to the total beginner yet satisfying to the advanced dancer.

About RODCHATA

Rodney “Rodchata” Aquino is a Latin Dance instructor, writer and lecturer in the United States. Solely responsible for popularizing bachata dance in San Francisco Bay Area, RODCHATA, as bachateros intimately calls him, has been in the Latin Dance scene for over 15 years and is considered one of the foremost authority in salsa and bachata dance. A certified instructor, his dance background includes Latin International Ballroom, salsa (on1, on2 mambo, and Cuban son, Casino), chachacha, merengue and bachata. His 1st encounter of the bachata dance was in the East Coast in the 90’s. He embarked himself into dancing bachata and studying the culture ever since. BACHATA BY RODCHATA IN SAN FRANCISCO

There’s never been a better time to learn bachata dancing, and take a dance class especially right here in the San Francisco Bay Area. There’s such a vibrant dance community here and the bachata craze is growing. There are now clubs that plays bachata music, and so many people out dancing. Bachata artists now frequently perform in San Francisco. It’s crazy to live here and not learn to dance bachata, or at least try it out. Our classes are fun, social, and entirely step by step, progressive. Rodchata, a world renown Bachata Teacher who just came back from his workshop tour in Sweden and Australia, announces a new dance class for Summer 2008, catering to all levels of bachata experience from absolute beginning to advanced, traditional and modern - Rodchata has something great to offer in everyone.The bachata classes only take place on Wednesdays at the Amura Ballroom Dance Studio in San Francisco. There’s no experience and no partner necessary, as the classes are filled with people, and everyone dances with everyone else. For those that want to have fun, having an outlet to release physical energy, impress dance partners on a dancing date, or get a date (Rodchata classes usually have the hottest singles), these classes are for everybody.
